Education and Community

Support the people.
Strengthen the community.

Practical training, purposeful partnerships and support shaped around the needs of educators, learners, families and communities.

We help you identify what would make a difference, build the confidence of your people and explore opportunities to turn local priorities into meaningful action.

Connected people.
Shared wellbeing.

Our roots are in supporting mental health within Education. That experience shaped a belief that still guides our work: educators, learners, parents and carers need support around them, not expectations placed on them in isolation.

Today, we bring that approach to Education and communities more widely. We work with you to understand the pressures, recognise existing strengths and identify where practical support could help.

About NurturEd ↗
01 / Support educators and staff

Supporting others starts with being supported.

Educators and staff need the confidence, skills and support to look after their own wellbeing while responding to the needs of others.

We help you choose practical training that fits your team, their responsibilities and the situations they encounter.

Training shaped around your people

Relevant programmes can include:

  • Mental Health First Aid, awareness and champion courses.
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid for adults supporting young people.
  • Refresher training for eligible Mental Health First Aiders.
  • Suicide First Aid programmes.
  • Conflict Resolution and De-escalation.

We help identify suitable programmes and consider how learning will connect with your existing policies, reporting procedures and support arrangements.

Training is one part of a supportive environment. It does not replace professional care or address organisational pressures on its own.

02 / Support learners and families

Parents and carers are part of the picture.

The experiences of learners, educators and families are closely connected. Parents and carers bring important insight into what is happening beyond the learning environment and where support may be needed.

We work with Education and community partners to explore appropriate learning and support opportunities for the people around the learner, as well as learners themselves.

Finding the right support

We begin by understanding who you want to reach, the concerns you are responding to and the outcome you hope to achieve.

This can help shape:

  • Relevant awareness and training opportunities for parents and carers.
  • Learning opportunities suited to the age and needs of students.
  • Greater confidence among adults supporting young people.
  • Connections with suitable partners where needs fall outside our own provision.

Programme suitability is considered carefully. Courses designed for staff or adults supporting young people are not automatically appropriate for student groups.

03 / Strengthen community organisations

Build on the strengths already there.

Community organisations understand their people and places. We bring practical training and partnership support that can help turn that knowledge into action.

Whether you are supporting staff and volunteers, responding to difficult situations or developing a new opportunity, we start with your priorities.

How we can work together

Support may include:

  • Mental health awareness and appropriate first aid training.
  • Conflict Resolution and De-escalation.
  • Exploring partnerships that bring relevant skills, resources or expertise.
  • Clarifying the support needed to develop an initiative.
  • Agreeing proportionate ways to understand participation and benefit.

We can also work with organisations whose staff enter homes and community settings. Our In the Field Safeguarding training helps technical and field teams recognise concerns, respond within their role and follow agreed reporting procedures.

04 / Develop a local project

Start with a need.
Shape a practical opportunity.

A space.
A purpose.
A possibility.

You may have an idea for an unused space, a community building that could do more, or a programme that needs the right support to move forward.

We help explore what is needed, what a realistic project could involve and whether suitable partners or organisational commitments could help bring it to life.

From an idea to a workable plan

Depending on the project and agreed scope, we can help:

  • Clarify the local need and intended beneficiaries.
  • Shape a project brief with a clear purpose.
  • Identify the skills, resources and contributions required.
  • Explore connections with Business and Government partners.
  • Coordinate agreed delivery responsibilities and timescales.
  • Establish how progress and community benefit will be understood.

Potential projects might include bringing an underused space into community use, improving a community facility or developing a relevant training programme.

Opportunities depend on project suitability, available resources and partner commitments. Specialist works require appropriate expertise and permissions.

Community purpose. Practical support.

Our wider work helps bring resources back to communities.

We reinvest income from our commercial work into community support. We also help connect contributions from Business and Government with relevant local needs.

Income we reinvest

Contributions we connect

Partner commitments bring relevant skills, resources and expertise.

Locally relevant support and projects

These are complementary ways of supporting our purpose: contributing directly where we can and helping others make commitments that lead to useful, achievable action.

Support is shaped around the opportunity and the resources available. We will be clear about what we can offer, any costs involved and what would depend on additional partners or funding.
